Can't stand this kind of sentiment, common in discussions about space. No Earth means no blue whales, no bluebells, no Blue Danube Waltz, no Blue Öyster Cult. No you. No one wants a galaxy with no you.

It is good to remember that we have no cosmic duty. The universe doesn't care, which means it is up to care, and there is a great deal to care about right here.
