I want feeling well on Monday and Tuesday this week. If I’d had to drive to the office, I’d have rung in sick. As it was, I logged on at home with a Lemsip, thus fixing the issue. I think they need to keep hybrid/remote. Yes, there a minority who take the piss, but there are also instances such as this where it means the difference between working, and not....

Like when I worked on the wards. Many years ago, when there were enough staff, we'd feel a bit under the weather, but still turn up for work. The Ward Sister would cut us some slack, bung us some painkillers from the trolley, & if it was quieter later, you were sent home. Sick rates were way lower.

I work in a call centre. My time is monitored to the minute. I log on, they know exactly how long I had for breaks, lunch, how long I spend on a call, how long I wait before taking the next call… there’s no chance of slacking off. Which makes it mad that we have to go to an office to do that!

Graham says he gets on better at the office. However, they have done away with the offices they had - now hot desking & sharing premises with another service. He said it's annoying when trying to concentrate & make calls. They also have to store their equipment in a store miles away, not ideal.
