Since most compaies don't publish their research all the companies have to pay the full price to rediscover the same ideas.
Agree that operational profitability would be a huge success. We don't know how much remote supervision the cars still need.

I can see that they had to invest more upfront when they started 10 years ago with no experts in other companies to recruit.
