Great news - I still wonder if intermediate events (men and women’s) have a place given the top intermediate times and elite times are pretty similar, and there’s a route for past winners to still race club - but while they exist every move to parity great to see
But the same could be said of the Wyfold and Fawley.
Now I've seen the explanation of a bridge between club/student and open events, and the link to a pioneering 18th century female sculptor (via her sculptures of Isis and Tamesis for the Henley Bridge keystones) I can see the thinking.
Thanks Matt that's a really kind offer. I do have the forms somewhere.
Unfortunately, I actually don't like the Stewards' Enclosure very much! Nothing personal. I prefer Remenham where I can watch the racing on a nice high spot ~10ft from the bank with a pint in my hand.
Gender? Or do they mean sex?
Assume it’s sex, in which case I applaud.
Will it make Women’s Henley redundant? Should that now become equal for M&F events too?
Comments
Though should’ve been called the Gentlemen’s Challenge Plate for symmetry and maximal confusion among the uninitiated.
Going to be interesting to see how the clubs (my own included) raise their game to take on British and foreign universities.
Some new Royal names would be nice, the Prince Phil works.
