As most here have already said… it’s way more than wifi.
Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum:
o Was immediately used to guide missles in WWII.
o Led to military radio
o Led to GPS
o Is used in cell networks, Bluetooth, wifi, many device-to-device networks, to control drones…
The fact someone that amazing had brains too shows you don't assume ANYTHING about a person, if I remember right didn't she come up with a lot of our modern 'computing' stuff while being a 'bombshell' back when women weren't seen as smart to most guys in the US at least???
I saw a documentary on her & was blown away.
She gave Howard Hughes drawings to help design his airplanes better. & she got totally screwed on the WIFI thing. The govt labeled it a 'defense' patent, so they couldn't even take credit for it for a long time. & no royalties.
she co-invented a frequency hopping system that made it difficult for German ships to detect incoming torpedoes. The Navy rejected it and told her that she'd be better off selling war bonds. "Today, the market value of Hedy’s discovery would be $30 billion, but she would never see a penny of it."
