Like no? Rise of communism basically worked because Russia collapsed so hard, communists despite majority proved to be most determined minority to strike hard, and Russian society so soulless automatons after centuries of absolutism they simply followed newest ruler as soon as he showed some power.
That is drastically different to USA Republic, that is divided roughly 50:50 between two major parties since like 35 years, parties kinda balancing between traditional centrist estabilishment and following more radical wings of their electorates.
Like I see zero simmilarity to fall of Tsardom, and rise of leninism.
Mussolini is still bad comparison, but at least I can see how populist boastful macho leader claiming popular support in moment of crisis ring some bell of simmilarity, at least on personal level.
