Ingredients required: enchilada sauce (canned), tortillas (store-bought), filling, pan (with lid or wrapped)
Filling: usually ground beef (cooked by yourself), black beans (canned), rice (rice cooker), and Mexican cheese (bagged, frozen, bought from store)
Storage: cover the top of the pan (either lid or wrap) and throw it in the fridge. Eat whenever.
Congratulation, you have just made much more enchiladas than you think you did.
Stew in Instant Pot; 1 person can have lunch all week on it! I like sausage stew w/ spinach & beans
Tuna casserole
Meatloaf
Chili
English muffins freeze great; nuke for 25 secs before toasting
Food waste is more than the cost of the food you threw out - it's also the cost of the food you have to buy to eat because of the waste. Basically 2X the time and money.
- can of soup $1.60
- buy pak 12 hotdogs @ $1.97 (2 per meal or 6 meals = 33 cents)
- buy 12 hot dog buns @ $ 2.37 or 6 meals = 40 cents)
Total meal aside from condiments in fridge = $2.33
Keep hotdogs/buns in freezer then micro together as needed.
Risotto.
Besides ramen, udon or kalgusku.
- potatoes with Egg or cottage cheese
- pan potatoes with some vegetable
Some of us women spent our young lives being domestic and don’t desire it in adulthood.
I don’t get time back, money will be replaced.
I use some canned base foods like tomato sauce, beans. The rest are fresh.
4 Pork chops (roughly $1.25 each from Costco)
Canned Hatch green chilis chopped (for hotter add canned jalapeños ($5 per large can or 3 smaller cans)
One can Rotel tomatoes w chilis ($2)
Three tbsps flour (like 5 cents)
Diced onion ($1)
Chopped garlic (.50)
DIRECTIONS:
Dice pork, fry in hot pan or 20 min in air fryer at 400), be sure to cook long enough that the pork is kinda burnt looking for caramelization (very important)…
Strange never thought to add that to oatmeal. Raisins, wheat germ, almond milk, touch honey, yeast powder, black strap molasses.
Protein powder can be tough like in coffee, never mixes.
And hamberders will cost just 1c.
It would take me longer to get takeout than to cook the food. Delivery is very limited here too.
There are some great, easy microwavable dishes. About $5 or less.
