Agreed - that song is so great.

Hold on My Heart was the song for the first dance at our wedding in 2003. It seems like an even more interesting and appropriate choice now that we're 22 years in. I'd never been to a wedding that had a song like that for a first dance.

Yeah! Started at the beginning, did everything chronologically. It was interesting to see how they matured. Lots of cool songs in there. I'm definitely going to revisit some of the stuff again. Suppers Ready was a highlight. Also surprised on how the prog lasted throughout the years, even on the pop

Their debut album has some great songs, but yeah, it's the sound of a band just starting off. As for "Calling All Stations:" it's amazing that they went on briefly without Phil Collins, but I really like that album. It's cold and beautiful. And yeah, there's great prog even on their pop albums.

That's a great plan. I discovered them with Dance on a Volcano late one evening on a pretty great radio station. So went back to the pre-quartet Peter Gabriel days and caught up.

And you know, I love all eras of the band, and I actually slightly prefer the late-70s-early-80s Collins-led stuff. But honestly, it just depends on my mood. The Gabriel material is so wonderfully fun and demented 😄

The first album is ragged and unfocused, but it does have some great songs, IMO. I love "The Serpent" and "Am I Very Wrong?"

I was lucky enough to catch the first Genesis tour at The Roxy in LA. Second only to seeing first tour of Led Zep for $4 at The Rose Palace in Pasadena.
I'm old but I got so see some great music cheap.
