because we open our hearts and trust people too much

we trust that they will love and protect us the same way we would love and protect them

and when that turns out to not be true, and when they cut deep into us like every other abuser, we lash out, and they can claim we are "evil"

they win always because they will abuse us for as long as they can get away with it, and then they walk away with the trophy whether or not we push them away, or we break and destroy ourselves

because in all scenarios, they get to paint us as "bad" and move onto the next victim
