Reports out of Pebble Beach suggest the PGA Tour will turn to rangefinders as a way to improve horrible pace of play. The same organization that found no improvement in pace of play after studying the use of devices on three tours in 2017, will do anything to avoid handing out penalty strokes.

And would it be easier / still effective if it's enforced only on tee boxes and around greens, where I imagine it would be the easiest to enforce?
