Very sad. I remember watching him with the As (provided my memory is correct) and feeling that he was a rival (but always a bit better) of my Tigers' Ron LeFlore.

😪 Watched him break the record for steals in Oakland Coliseum. Then had him try to race me on the 880 freeway as he drove next to me in the new Porsche he'd received for that feat. He waved as he sped past me in my Honda. 😎
