Seattle Sonics fans thought something similar. Yes, Seattle is smaller than Dallas, but the relative jump from Seattle to Oklahoma City, which is basically a long street, is equal to Dallas to Vegas at least.

All good (and painful!) points, but a key difference between SEA/OKC and DAL/LV is the arena. Seattle lacked what the NBA considered to be an acceptable arena, local gov't refused to bend the knee, so the NBA allowed the team to move. Looking forward to reading your article, though.
But Adelson wants a casino with the Mavs inside. Yes the big difference is Silver isn’t Stern. But Adelson is a 2025 oligarch and this version of excrement is built different
1: Thank you, thank you, thank you for acknowledging how painful the Sonics fiasco was (and is) for Seattlites.
2: You are 1000% right how obscene the wealth disaparity is in the world in general and the US in specific.
But it just seems much more likely that the NBA will assist Adelman in obtaining whatever outcome she wants in Dallas rather than allowing her to move the team to Vegas. The NBA governors have historically been reticent to allow teams to move when they are in a financial strong location.

Los Angeles lost both the Rams and the Raiders, but again has been a while.
