Susan, I used to live in Midvale not too far down the street from where Sandy begins. Back then, I was around kind, caring people. Maybe the lack of kindness is in certain pockets there. I found Utahans descent people in general when traveling/visiting.

I’ve lived in South Salt Lake for more than 60 years. I’ve seen some kind people and also some horrible ones. It often feels like there’s more cruelty these days.

We also refused Fed $$$ for summer lunch for food insecure kids; set up state-sponsored "tip lines" to rat out trans folks using public restrooms and any public school that utters DEI.
Bonus: the "disagree better" governor has stated that he'll welcome relocation (aka concentration) camps in Utah.
