I fully support robust funding of CBC - a public broadcaster has been shown to protect democracy.
However, PM Harper put his not-CBC- friendly friends on the board of CBC.
Does anyone know how many remain and if we can find a way to ensure the board will protect CBC’s independence?

‘The proposed mandate would also include strengthening local news with more local bureaus and reporters, and the clear and consistent transmission of life-saving information during emergencies’
We all saw a change in CBC after PM Harper installed his friends. The Trudeau govt. made some changes but it’s unclear whether the entire board was changed.

Harper appointed them for max times, but all are gone - the smell appears to linger!!
Harper set out to destroy CBC culture and it worked. He also legislated 'arm's length' into Anaconda squeeze.

This has been a problem for a long time. They need to do a housecleaning of the Harper jokers. Nepotism also runs wild there. I've seen too many of their kids get prominent jobs with the CBC.
But the attitudes of the #CONs appears to linger.
