That's how Russia got to where it is, so afraid of Putin they're silently watching him massacre another country. Americans should protest NOW, while they still have rights and laws, before they, like Russia, lose that chance forever.
Partly because, US is 3.8 million square miles. Serbia is 34 thousand. US has 98 people per square mile with vast tracts of unoccupied space. Serbia has 198 /sq mile. Losing a job in order to protest in US has vast consequences (loss of health ins; unemployment risks). Not so much in Serbia.
I still maintain, protest only works if there are politicians listening to their constituents, even if only for the chance to be reelected. These politicians don’t believe they will ever have to campaign again, as long as they obey Trump. The opinions of the people do not matter to them.
I suspect that Serbia is out there as a united force because this isn’t their first rodeo. I think too many Americans are tuned out, uninformed, misinformed, or are in Chuckville: a lovely little place where he and Merrick Garland patiently wait for the courts and Republicans to reign in Trump.
We are having them - a LOT of them - and they’re growing by the day. But mainstream media is now state media and they are not covering it. At some point they won’t be able to just ignore us anymore.
I don't want to make excuses here, but size does matter. Very little travel or expense is required of Serbians to make this happen. Our day is coming soon. D.C. will be packed to the gills April 5th.
Out of the 50 states 17 of them have more population than Serbia. I’m sure it will make a much bigger statement.
