why did they make a whole game centered around a girl and her family and their shared trauma and how that pain radiates across generations and throughout their lives and sideline the girl the whole time

“um actually it’s very clever commentary because her family does the same to her until she realizes that she has agency, much like she does in act 3” okay but once she realizes that agency why do i play as her edgy emo brother still
just got to act 3 and thought this was weird too, especially since the only points you're forced to play as a character are when you're in camp. wonder if it's due to the relationship system? which honestly is so barebones it could've just been wrapped into the "catch up w/others" option.
On top of that it’s weird that the POV character is the guy who knows all these secrets he’s not telling. But since the player doesn’t know them, either, it makes his point of view, and the relationships, pretty meaningless.
that's what's weird though - he's *not* the POV character. the cutscenes aren't from his POV, you don't have to play as him in the overworld, you don't always talk to npcs as him... it's literally just the camp. At all other times the cast is equals except camp.
Yep, 100% good point. It’s a shame they didn’t come up with a better way to do both the “little character conversations” stuff and the unlocks you get from relationships than centering Verso.
I’d much rather rekindle the feelings between Lune and Sciel…
i don’t give a fuck about being generous and i’m sick of the argument that the only viable audience vehicle is a boring white man. maelle is just as viable of a vehicle if nor moreso than any other character in it. it’s ABOUT her.
Oh I agree Maelle's a sweetheart and the emotional heart of the story. Great performance, great facial capture or simulation or whatever they did, just great emotional-conveyance overall.

But yeah, shouldda gave the player the option to pick between Gustave and Sophie ~~and just not included Verso~~
