This one was a hard pass for me. I have enough RPG materials to last a couple lifetimes so I am done overpaying for new stuff to take up space.

im not in for this either, but four books and a bunch of poster maps in a nice heavy-duty box for $200 isn't out of line compared to similar products e.g. $90 for the Triangle Agency "normal briefcase" set, which is two fat hardcovers plus accessories. ambitious products get priced ambitiously.

I mean, you think THAT's insane, look for World's Largest Dungeon (which, granted, was $100 when it came out the first time 20ish years ago). $150? for the PDF, $300 physical, with the super-cool Mimic chest (and it really is) $1500.

That’s why I think it’s valuable to break things up into smaller books. Arden Vul is a good example of this. Gods of the Forbidden North is another.

The new World's Largest Dungeon is...4 volumes, I think? Several (and a slipcase). But at least each individual tome is smaller than _Zweihander_.

I was pretty sure I was off this from when they revealed the price (amid the discourse around it all) but the fact that you aren’t even getting the PDF with it at that price was a 100% close on there being any flicker of interest.

Looking forward to putting this in the rear view.

well, if you trust that everything is as it seems. They said they'd never work with this guy again 5 yrs ago. The JG guy was on Facebook saying they were working together on a bunch of stuff... I guess everyone's hoping Goodman isn't lying this time?

It is a very weird crowdfund. It looks like it's designed to not be very successful. I think Goodman has earned some trust.

I won't support it and I'll be wary about anything Goodman going forward, but I haven't written them off completely.
