Actually in Hindi and Sanskrit the word Puja doesn't mean the same as English worshipping of God
It's more like Serving the cow because you give respect to them as mother
The worshiping Of God is called Sadhna and upasna.
You serve cow because she feeds you whole life and gives milk for free to you
