Exactly. He’s imposing tariffs on countries like Australia that don’t have tariffs on US goods because we have a free trade agreement. The carveouts were all to the US’s advantage being the bigger economy. But now the US industries that couldn’t get what they wanted are pushing for more again.

He is regarding internal sales tax as a tariff on US goods, so any country with a VAT is included. Most countries have a point of sale tax of some sort.

I think the idea for countries affected by Trump’s tariffs is not to retaliate on stuff the country needs and where it doesn’t want to see a price increase passed to its customers, i.e. gas, oil, pharmaceuticals. The rest food+drinks+ clothes+fims+music+ Amazon+X+ Tesla can all be taxed 🆙🆙🆙

Tariffs will break havocs on American families living on paychecks, while millionaire & billionaire families are paying the same tariffs as these low income families, but Trump plans to use tariffs as revenue to compensate for loss of revenue by his extending & expanding tax cut for the rich!

That's something I wish media called out. Sure, other countries have tariffs, but none of our major trade partners have universal tariffs. That defeats the purpose of trying to strengthen a specific industry. His strategy makes no sense and I feel like no one is explaining how tariffs should be used

Yup! And as a result of how much he’s pissed off Canadians, this is going to get even worse! Our politicians and business leaders are pivoting hard to stop as much trade as possible with USA.
Japan, our fourth largest trading partner is going to be soon our third.
