the nfl was rewarded for its decision to jam as many games as possible between thanksgiving and new years with a lot of bad football, a final week that doesn’t matter, and a bunch of players limping to the end of the season

Week 17 had a lot of players written off for the year as well. Fantasy football commissioners might want to consider week 16 championship games in the future if this is what it is going to look like.
I love football and watch pretty much whatever’s on, but this was ridiculous. It’s a tough game, and it seems zero thought was given to the players. The same amount of games could be played on a normal schedule. Give us all Christmas off. It’s all about the money. Enough already.
So wrong. Great games that are finally showing the playoffs and matchups. The fact it takes to the last game of the season to determine a division champ is what makes the nfl so great. Competition is getting closer and games are getting closer. So much fun to be a fan!!!
I mean this just objectively isn’t true. Plenty of games matter. Two on Saturday, four on Sunday, arguably the most meaningful SNF we’ve had in decades? We also had great games over the weekend.
I watched two games yesterday that I might not have if my team was out of it. And if my team wins Saturday, I’ll end up watching two more Sunday that I might have skipped.
I’m not sure what your point is. There were just as many games between thanksgiving and new years as there were last year. All they did was move a couple of games from Sunday to Christmas.
but the 1 seed is up for grabs in the NFC on sunday night, man! they only had to cheat their asses off to get the vikings a win, much like they did in the first matchup at green bay, but MONEY BABY! 😂
No team should ever play 2 games in a 5 day span. Outside of Thanksgiving there shouldn't be Thursday games but if the NFL is going to keep them then they should schedule a bye for every team the week before they have to play on Thursday. They also need to add at least 1 more bye week to the season.
The NFL players have a weak ass Union. Those fucking idiots signed a new deal, while the owners ALREADY had a new tv rights deal, screwing the players over once again
I took a long break from football in general and the NFL in particular 10 years ago. Given the Lions recent success, I watched a game. The brutality was shocking. A 17 game season is absurd. The players are all signing up for short lifespans, dementia, CTE, and the NFL is reaping the rewards.
Football overall was very poor. Couple exciting games don't make up for teams obviously not playing at their peak.
And Bears-Seahawks took us back 20 years.

Billionaires doing their best to drive down the rest of us.
If course, if they lose… lol 😂
The Vikings/Lions game is historic. Two 14-2 teams for all the playoff marbles.
And Bears-Seahawks took us back 20 years.
