@juliangough.bsky.social so on it! We should talk more about the 'dead zone of children's publishling'! I have lost count how many times these books have rescued a child's reading momentum - a vital principle in creating volitional readers - it gets overlooked too often.

One of those moments when the scales fall from ones eyes.
I've been publishing books like this for a while now and wondering why they don't fit the usual genres.
Mine are typically 64pp+ around 5-10k, with 8-12 colour pictures so not exactly the same, but along those lines.
