The others haven’t seen a shift yet (Mainstreet has though) but here’s the thing: Pierre is becoming irrelevant. The script has flipped and he hasn’t pivoted and now he’s getting pushed to the sidelines while the adults deal with Trump.

And he’s going to get wedged as he takes positions now.

It guaranteeing a LPC win but the script has been entirely flipped on Pierre and a new LOC leader will bring more of a swing back to them than people think, I think.

In this case, not an incumbent but someone not as risky. Pierre is a risk. A wild card.

The LPC has a chance now to deliver change while Pierre looks out of touch.

This is the sense I've been getting, too. I think voters have been screaming from the rooftops that all options aren't good, and so the Liberals opened the door to changing that narrative (for themselves and the next election). If it's a 7 point difference, that makes the next election interesting.

Remember also the CPC vote is less efficient so if the national percentages are something like CPC 36 / LPC 31, that's a minority government for the CPC. They need to get into the high 30's, especially with the NDP collapsing.

This is a change election and the CPC were the change party.

But clearly, they wanted to have an election before now and aren't ready for this moment.

Suddenly, a Carney-led LPC represents the most recent, and perhaps best version of change to deal with Trump.

All of this. I've been saying this to colleagues who all believe that a CPC majority is the thing. I said they'd be lucky if they could get a minority now. I actually cause people to gasp when I say the Liberals can still win the next election.

We're in for some interesting times ahead...
