Asekheth!! Asekheth!! AsekhethAsekhethAsekh - yay precious Byzantine lady!! So glad to see her again — the artworks you've done of her before were the likes of ones i found utmostly moving and intense, with the lingering warped-holiness motifs, and this one is no exception!
I absolutely love how you've drawn the way the light hits her eyes, it's absolutely ethereal and it matches the overall lighting of the piece so sharply! The metal of her mask and jewellery here is also so warm and dull like a well-worn favourite thing,
And i love this nice brooch — its so shaped!! — I don't know why but it's got such an interesting combo of soft curves and pointy bits it surprised me! And also can totally appreciate what seems to be black gems incrusted in it (are those obsidian? very neat!)
Also can totally appreciate the mosaic nimb (and it's plain stone outer layer - it's so eye-catching!) and the quality body-horror going on in here — it's so unnerving how uneven and organic the wings are and how her eye melts into this growth at an odd angle and how the dove's wing
is bloodied and it's neck trapped within what appears to be a metal ring (or a bone? It feels like two bands of metal and a gemstone tbh), and how there seems to be a wingbone under her skin on the forehead..
Very crunchy very disturbing very pretty! I also love how you have depicted seraphims here — with faces different just enough in exaggerated proportions and shape from humans to be very clearly scanning as something that ISN'T one,
