* Didn't know it was the first object recognized as a galaxy, besides our own.
*Hubble in 1923 was the one who figured that out! That's why the 1st space telescope was named after him.
* Didn't know is bigger than the Milky Way and we're on collision course.
Well, there are a trillion stars in each galaxy and they will "be together" in a few billion years in the future...
Oh wait! There is also an article in the Wikipedia saying you're right.
On the other hand, their supermassive blackholes will collide... and our Sun will be screwed.
This reminds me of the night I spent outside taking hundreds of pictures with just my camera, adjusting it manually little by little to see Andromeda for the first time... And the result was actually good! I wish I had a good telescope to photograph it again, though, in better quality this time!
If not for the gas, and dust, detritus, and planets surrounding stars, seems to me, stars wouldn't be as visible as they are... Are there Dark Stars? Black as night stars, remaining undetected? Spawn of Dark Energy; Dark Light!
Thank You!
I know nothing about galaxies other than pictures of them are beautiful.
So trying to comprehend the size. . .
How many 'miles' across is that whole glowing part?
In the photo there's stuff that looks like clouds?
What's that? Why does it appear cloud-like in appearance?
For size, Andromeda is bigger than our own Milky Way. The 2 brightest "small clouds" nearby are smaller satellite galaxies orbiting Andromeda.
I just read the Wikipedia article and I'm excited to share that 😅

A spinning planet. The eyes, ovaries, testicles. The stars and Sun.
Feminine energy creates life.
The role of Masculine energy is to support, protect and direct that energy.
I think it’s getting closer.
It is written
Even in the stars
The truth is plain to see
As light is
So what
So be it.

Then: what use are great minds if they don't tell us what the world lacks most and still bleeds so profusely for this reason?!
What is the light of the star reflecting off of?

So much AWESOMENESS contained in one photo!!!
(I got momentarily sidetracked cause a friend's 5 year old had came home from school and asked her, "Does God exist?")
But so far I've found THIS and that "One light-year is about 6 trillion miles".
