How feasible is it for the Cubs to truly be a contender to win the WS, without signing superstars. I think the playoffs showed you need superstars to win it all, apart from being able to consistently develop them like the Braves it seems the best way is FA, which Cubs seem don't want to do.

Should we trust that Amaya turned a corner late last season and can be trusted to keep that up, take 75% of the C ab's, and keep us from spending money on something other than a true backup? Spend that money elsewhere?

Based on feedback in/out of the org, sounds like the bat is what will carry him. And the hope would be he becomes versatile enough to offer depth at catcher (2nd/3rd option), but then probably DH. He's played 1B in the Minors to keep bat in lineup, too, but TBD if that's viable in MLB.

One trade you would like to see the Cubs offer this offseason? It should have a reasonable chance of both teams accepting (so no "Judge for middle reliever") & make you more confident in the Cubs getting to postseason play next year, health permitting.
