The primary purpose of education in a democracy is to equip future citizens with the wherewithal to fulfil their responsibility for the fate of the nation, not to produce more wage-slaves.
Few major political parties would ever have benefitted from increased understanding of them though.
Otherwise, it'd just be weird
Even when I started uni they told us "well if you don't have a job in the filed by the third semester you are never going to get a career" and I'm like HOW????
