I think if we look at what other countries are doing, and take the most successful components of those ideas to build a unique healthcare system for the United States, we would be doing much better than we are right now.

Japan is insurance based but you are not allowed to make a profit off health insurance
Last time I looked a couple years ago Japan was ranked 5th in the world for healthcare while the US was somewhere near 40th in the modern world

Last time I looked a couple years ago Japan was ranked 5th in the world for healthcare while the US was somewhere near 40th in the modern world
