I suspect it is the next generation (i.e. your kids) who will feel entitled and think that they can pull the ladder up to prevent “those” other people from succeeding.
In my family, 2/3 kids are generous to strangers. The eldest is very conservative. Growing up in a liberal household doesn’t necessarily produce progressive offspring. We do our best and hope our kids have good lives.
I grew up poor. My husband didn’t. We’re successful. We want everyone to have enough to eat, make a livable wage, healthcare and access to education. All people with money aren’t greedy and selfish. 😊
