It depends on her tolerance for things like sword fighting (no people are hit, but there are giant people-like monster mages at the end that Alanna faces off with), scary stuff (mostly related to magic and magical trials), and the implication of death (a plague takes a peer, tho we don't "see" it)!

In general I would say I suggest this for 10 and older, but having worked at a comic shop, I know there are some 6 and 7 year olds that wouldn't bat an eye at this (wild how many people let their kids read like Walking Dead).

If she reads Naruto then this volume should be fine!

I would have read the first book at about 7, got them for daughter #2 at that age too.

It's pretty wholesome, and honestly for books encouraging girls to be true to themselves and their dreams, early is good
