Especially this week. I had a kidney stone thst sent me to the ED on Thursday in uncontrollable pain. The fire department picked me in their aid car. They were so gracious and so professional. Heroes.

I grew up 3 houses down from my fire station. The FF's would let us kids help wash the engine and the ambulance after runs.

At 18, I became the 1st female FF in our city, at that same firehouse.

Every other week, my boys and I bake cookies, or other treats, and take them over to the fire station. They've always been so kind to us, and my boy love visiting, even as teenagers. Amazing role models.
