I'll try to say something on the efforts we need to push back against anti-Muslim prejudices in broader society. Tackling hate *towards* Muslims will of course require allies + institutions beyond Muslim communities to work with strong voices within them

You can't protect and fight against Islamophobia, by allowing attacks against some Muslims - just because they don't fit your world view, or you don't like them. There has got to be a clear definition which protects all Muslims equally. Muslims who are more traditional need defending too - not

I didn't understand how the inference that I would "allow attacks against some Muslims" arose. I'm against hatred, prejudice or discrimination on grounds of faith/identity against all Muslims (all Jews, all Hindus). Separate that from where I agree/disagree on politics of some Hindus, Muslims & Jews

It's not what you said, it's knowing those who at the forefront of the group. They can't/won't challenge critics of those who follow a more stricter version of their religion and therefore they become fair targets for some or the problem. No-one would target Jews who follow a stricter version...

Its clearly true some people who are more visibly Muslim and more visibly Jewish (eg Orthodox) are targets of more hatred and prejudice. I don't see how those involved ignore that. Opposition to hatred & prejudice due to faith & its visibility is distinct from political, theological, social debates
