Maybe Lute had secretly looked up to Vaggie as some kind of rolemodel 2nd only to Adam. Maybe not so much a romantic attraction but it definelty takes quite a lot of passion for Lute to do what she did to her. Maybe she sees herself in Vaggie & the compassion she has she desperately wants to cut out

I'm a fan of Georgia Dow's analysis on Lute which I would highly recommend if you haven't seen it already. She does a psychological analysis for a lot of HB & HH characters as well as for other fictional characters in other shows.

I love the idea of Lute being jealous x2 because Vaggie was one of Adam's "best girls" and the lack of affection/attention + internalized homophobia made her EXTRA aggressive. Hence the wing thing.
