Yep, Alastor is "mixed-race Creole", according to Viv. "Creole" literally just means "descended from French settlers". (It's usually used in a Southern context, ex. Catholic settlers in Louisiana, but I think it also applies to Huguenot/Protestant settlers in other areas, ex. New England, as well.)
