They did the organised Auschwitz tour because it's nearby. But aside from that it looks like a beautiful old city and the food was reportedly amazing (and v cheap).
That’s on the list of things to go and see, but I want to get there first and have a wander around the city. And, very much looking forward to trying the local cuisine - exciting!

The ‘obvious’ is imperative, you must visit Auschwitz. Look up the mounds of krakow if you don’t mind an uphill leg stretch. The salt mines and wawel castle. The actual city square is wonderful for food/drink and people watching, cheap and friendly. Old town is beautiful 🤩
Oh we shall. I’ve been to the Sachsenhausen memorial in Berlin twice and it’s a part of history that shouldn’t be forgotten. The salt mines look very cool so I think that’s on the list 🤩
