For this moment, I placed the Sauron theme in pianos, celestes, glockenspiels, even toy pianos, and digitally stretched them to make them unnaturally, impossibly slow and long: a sound that is utterly impossible in the natural acoustic world—distorted and upsettingly abnormal.
