One thing I'll say is that this format of 8 episodes every 18 months for television series really destroys any sort of vibe that you have with a show. There are so many shows that I just have not picked up again when new seasons are released. - ThreadSky

Is there a reason why they wait so long between seasons now? I get that some shows are huge and might take the time but they do it with sitcoms too.

People have no self-control anymore. A big cliffhanger happens so they just click "play next" and go straight into it.
