The machine actually does make very fun noises! Mine had a series of THUNK and beeps when it was getting into place (as well as the THUNK of the door solenoids engaging) and a very loud BUZZ while the beam was active. (It's a safety thing to make the machine make noise when it's on!)
I had my first mri last year and the operator warned me of the noises, but I actually found them quite soothing and spent my time wondering if anyone had remixed them into a track (which of course they had).
When I had my MRI it sounded almost like it was trying to play the NES Mario theme song at one point, I had to clamp down on some laughter there because my head needed to stay still 😅
I got to swallow my radiation but at least it was just once. They brought in in an ammo box and the technician didn’t want to touch it. But I had to eat it. 😂 I hope yours does it’s job.
Aquaphor! Get several of the big tub of Aquaphor and leave them in convenient locations. We have one in the bedroom, one on the kitchen table, and smaller tubes in every bathroom. Also stick a tube in the car, but remove it in the height of summer, lol.
Also: it is completely normal to be deeply fucking exhausted for the entire time you're being treated even if you do absolutely nothing else strenuous other than walk to and from the machine that goes THUNK daily. It will go away when you're done visiting the machine that goes THUNK.
I just finished my four weeks! I had to lie face down for mine, which was... Well, let's just say I'm happy to be done. The care team were stellar though.
Get some Jean's Cream (expensive, alas) and apply every day to soothe irradiated areas. It works. A friend of mine who had had breast cancer suggested this to me and ... it works.

Have you a supply of aloe vera gel for the “sunburn” yet? My “sunburn” was pretty painful by the end of my four weeks.
(This was actually the one that was hard for me. Sitting very still with no distractions. My mind didn’t handle it well.)
And "FINAL BOSS MONSTER DEFEATED!" after the last dose.
(Glad to see you back on the socials!)
Best wishes to you!
