So a couple thoughts on game jam games.
They are an art form of their own.
The requirements are that of non-jam-games. But exponentially bigger.
Because the context they are played in is so much smaller.

Players need to understand it and quickly.
Sure this is true for any game but in a jam game, the frame of mind of a player is limited. They are not invested.
It has to click. Otherwise they are gone, playing another game.

Make the game tick at the exact right rate to capture players and keep them going with the beats. This is quite the challenge to make and people seem even less forgiving when this isn't right.

But game jams are great fun. Engaging with other developers, see what people think.
If we try to measure our full games like this as well, maybe we can take away some valuable lessons for them, here and there.
