No, it takes time to go through internal procedures, including escalating to formal whistle blowing. He resigned as a result of the failure of those. BTW, photos circulating are of a more senior former FCDO colleague, apparently not the Mark Smith who resigned from Dublin.

Mark is a former colleague, a very capable civil servant, absolutely versed in governance and integrity. It's his speciality. That he did this speaks VOLUMES, and it reflects badly on Lammy and Dodds.

His letter has now been reported by BBC but a bit sceptically, hinting at a jnr malcontent. 😠
