Starmer again played a blinder and somehow seems to be doing the right thing for Ukraine and keeping Trump happy. I'm sure he personally despises Trump but he won't show it of course.

Trump has tried for about a month to ostracise Zelensky. Starmer has restored my belief that we can be proud to be British. I needed that. Zelensky & Ukraine needed that too. Ukraine is our front line. It's our hill.

It has to be a loan because the assets are only frozen, not seized. If it were a handover of assets it would be subject to lengthy legal proceedings which would create enormous delays. The loan element is just there to allow the money to be sent immediately.

I stand to be corrected. We've advanced money to Ukraine subject to a future successful legally correct seizure of Russian assets. I think Orban & (Fico?) are going to block efforts to get funds to Ukraine. Haven't caught up with the details yet, so I may be talking utter crap 🫣
