What/how much do you recommend we write for alt text? I always include it, but I'm always concerned that I've written too much or not enough. Like is this the right amount?

I don't know the answer but yours seems good! I sometimes don't write much but it depends on my ability when I'm posting, sometimes it's detailed, other times a bit looser :)

What do you think of the warning that alt text is used to refine generative AI because it's basically an AI prompt in reverse? (Text describing what an image looks like that can be used to make an image based on what text says)

honestly at this point the only way to ensure your art isn't fed into a dataset is to never post it, leaving off alt text isnt going to be a substantive impact

My hope is that Glaze and/or Nightshade on everything I post online will make the image much less useful to genAi, even with alt text.

I've found there's a load of ways of generating the text for the slow typers attention deficit ppl like me. But sometimes they're rubbish, like my photo of our turkey getting in the way of our log chopping was " man and turkey relax together representing festive spirit of cooperation " what?! No.

I always try to included a descriptive alt text of my work. It can be a challenge to put visual content into words but, it's important. I want as many people as possible to have the chance to experience the beauty of the land and creatures that call it home.

When the laziness takes over the progressive poster, it's obvious to me how much ableism resides within even the kindest person.

Make the effort people, describe the image thoroughly, type in or talk-to-text your #AltText !
