I've been installing some games from my youth while he's away for the evening watching a dog for someone. I just played SimCity 2000 for three hours without even realizing it.

Reminds me of when I went into a shop during a town festival at age 12 and spent my food money on a Tandy 1000HX. This was 2006-ish, so my parents were more confused than anything. I’m definitely biased, but I think there’s real value in experiencing history firsthand like that.

Oh 100% - I still remember my mom driving me home from school in Oct of '01. Saw an Atari 800 with games and a tape drive at a garage sale on the way and immediately plopped down all $40 of my saved allowance to buy it. My mom was so confused 😅
