Rewatching Public Hero #1, an MGM entry in the public enemies rage of the Thirties. It's not up to Scarface or Angels with Dirty Faces, but it's quite fun. Sexy Chester Morris is the undercover cop, Joseph Calleia his foil. Jean Arthur, Calleia's half-Italian sister, adds a comic touch.
