If I remember correctly, this has a channel all the way around the back cover. Some black yarn and rubber cement might be worth playing with. I’ve had great luck with that method on a few different bodies. Lot easier than foam in many cases.

That was attempt no 2. Attempt no 3 included some gaffer tape to block ight coming through above the film rail. Need to spend more time with a pen light and dark room to see where else it’s coming through. Nothing like late 1980s Soviet engineering.
Tell me about it. Been there. You ended up where I usually do, just taping it up. I use electrical tape more often than gaffers. Just works better in the cold (I live in Alaska). I have one of the early Kievs. Parts are all German, but the Russians used wax for lubricant. Took me days to fix that.
