I re-read if I genuinely loved the book and read it so fast that I missed a lot of details, or if it’s one of my comfort books I go back to every few years (these are books that keep meaning more or something else for me as my life changes and I change).
When my son was little, I couldn’t read much or often, so book-buying was a way of promising myself that those books would be waiting when life eventually changed again.;) It did.
