No, I think these ideas go in the complete wrong direction. It has nothing to do with being Putin friendly. But with a lot of fear and inexperienced leaders in any security policies in Germany.

Germany alway relied in defence situations on others. There is no homegrown experience therfore.
Well, I tend more to the inexperience theory, maybe combined with the fact that Germany always only ready to move when the US did go into the lead. But you could be also right, long time the SPD did indeed appeased Moscow.
Honestly? Because every step is something Germany never did before. We are in security policy like a child in their first steps and therfore very hesitating.
Yeah. But let’s be fair the USA has 3700 Abram tanks IN RESERVE, not even in active units. If Biden gave 10% of that amount to Ukraine the war would already be over.
