Despite a tape of some state legislator, an op-ed by a guy who hasn’t done a US campaign in 33 years (when he got 43%) etc, important to note that when the trans athlete bill came up in the House all but 2 Dems—both from TX border districts—voted no.

So less than 1% of the Democrats conceded.

Put Warnock in charge somehow, IMHO. If the Northeast can’t build houses then we need to make up for it somewhere and a competitive Georgia and North Carolina allows us to go on a counteroffensive in the South. Need a guy who knows Southern politics and doesn’t give a fuck about New York nonsense.

I'd have to imagine that anyone in NoVa who doesn't explicitly work as a GOP partisan or lobbyist is going to either be someone Trump/Musk tried to fire out of spite or will be close to a few of them and that all hits a lot harder than ideology or policy.

One thing that makes this crisis especially horrifying to me is that *both* sides despise me. Team Red does not care for left of center brownish people, and Team Blue has absolutely no use for a mediocre academic who's a step too slow to compete in the blue state tournament for jobs and housing.

If any of the crazy secession scenarios somehow played out, there would have to be a Man in the High Castle style neutral zone to hold all the human refuse neither side wanted. That, of course, is based on the optimistic assumption they don't just kill them all...
