Do reposts do anything here? I don't see anyone else's reposts, only if it's a quote post. If there is no algorithm to drive views, what is repost even doing, if it's not pushing it to other users feeds?

I have 4 or 5 lists that I created based on particular groups (one for locals, one for news or larger accounts, one for particular medical or science topics, etc).
But as I understand there is no algorithm here? Like I only interact with a handful or so lists of accounts I've grouped for different topics. Even my discover feed is not showing reposts. Not sure what their point is. It's not like Twitter where you saw everyone's retweets.
