I routinely correct faulty code that GitHub Copilot spits out. As another commenter in this thread said, LLMs are no substitute for experience. But so what? I’m not sure why people don’t want a better hammer just because it’s not a perfect hammer.

It's a tool that probably hurts us if we all have it. Sure you or I might know how to use it carefully and maintain our agency and awareness but there's a ton of people that just won't.

As my professor once said, "A fool with a tool is still a fool." But man it's a sweet tool for knowledge workers. Maybe it shouldn't be free to hand out to the masses though.
