Similar. Have told my students that what feels different from my 1960s/1970s youth, is that it felt like movements & voting rights could really transform things. Politics could do good. I’m still engaged. But so much less optimistic abt today.

A huge difference is that while we can be forgiven for mistakenly thinking they're the same thing, typing things into the void is not the same as meeting regularly and actually 1) creating culture and 2) effecting change.

One is entertainment. The other kills fascists.
